Three of the four say they serve all of Australia, and IDEAL lists contact hours for both eastern and Western Australia. There are many other registered plan managers: see our independent comparison of NDIS plan managers.

Who is your NDIS contact in Brisbane and South East Queensland?
The NDIS uses partner organisations as the local face of the scheme. Local area coordination is for ages 9 to 64, and the early childhood partner is for a child younger than 6 with developmental delay or younger than 9 with disability. The partner can help you ask for plan management at a plan meeting or review. This is the official list for South East Queensland service areas as at 20 September 2026.
| Region | Local area coordination (ages 9 to 64) | Early childhood partner |
|---|---|---|
| Brisbane | Carers Queensland | The Benevolent Society |
| Logan | Carers Queensland | The Benevolent Society |
| Moreton Bay | Carers Queensland | The Benevolent Society |
| Ipswich | Carers Queensland | EACH |
| Sunshine Coast | Carers Queensland | Bushkids |
| Gold Coast | Carers Queensland | UnitingCare |
Other Queensland service areas (including Toowoomba, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns) have different partners; some remote areas have none, in which case the NDIA works with you directly on 1800 800 110. See the NDIS Queensland partner page for the map.
How Queensland joined the NDIS
Completed in 2020
The NDIS announced that Queensland's transition would be officially completed on 1 October 2020, when full scheme arrangements took effect. At that time around 85,000 Queenslanders were in, or seeking access to, the NDIS (NDIS news, 23 September 2020).
What it means today
Queensland participants use the same national scheme, price limits and plan management rules as everyone else, so your choice comes down to the plan manager rather than the state.
How to choose a plan manager in Brisbane: five questions to ask
Ask each plan manager you shortlist these before you sign a service agreement. Plan management costs you nothing extra ($104.45 a month in 2026-27 is paid from your plan), so the choice comes down to service.
What does your timeframe cover?
A plan manager may quote the time to process an invoice, to reach the NDIA, or to pay your provider. Ask which one, and whether it is a target or an average. Processing is different from money arriving in your provider's bank.
How are invoices approved?
Some plan managers pay every invoice you approve, others pay after a set time unless you say hold. Choose the setting that suits you, and confirm which of your providers can send invoices directly.
Can I see a sample invoice journey?
Ask to see an invoice from received to paid in the portal or app on the device you use, with the accessibility settings you need. A budget screen alone does not show where an unprocessed invoice is waiting.
Who do I call, and when?
Ask whether the contact hours are listed in Queensland time or in Sydney and Melbourne daylight-saving time. Ask who covers your contact during leave and how urgent calls are escalated.
Is registration current?
Plan managers must be registered with the NDIS Commission. Search the NDIS Commission provider register for the business name or ABN and check plan management is listed and current.
Brisbane does not use daylight saving
Queensland stays on Australian Eastern Standard Time all year. From October to April Sydney and Melbourne move one hour ahead, so a plan manager that lists its hours in AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Time) closes an hour earlier by the Brisbane clock. IDEAL Plan Management, for example, lists its hours in AEDT. Ask for contact hours in Queensland time before you sign.

Do I need a plan manager based in Brisbane?
No. Plan management is a financial service, and the providers we compare below describe portal, app, phone or email service rather than a local office. A local office matters only if you want face-to-face contact.
Who is my NDIS contact in Brisbane?
The local area coordination partner for the Brisbane, Logan, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast service areas is Carers Queensland. For young children, the early childhood partner is The Benevolent Society in Brisbane, Logan and Moreton Bay, EACH in Ipswich, Bushkids on the Sunshine Coast and UnitingCare on the Gold Coast, as published by the NDIS on 20 September 2026.
Is plan management free for Brisbane participants?
Yes. Plan management is funded in your plan as its own support, at up to $104.45 a month in 2026-27 under the NDIS Pricing Schedule, and it does not reduce the funding you have for supports. There is no setup fee in the pricing schedule. See our guide to NDIS plan management fees.
How do I add plan management to my plan?
Tell the NDIA you want it. The NDIS says you can ask to change how your funding is managed at any time, at a plan meeting or by contacting the NDIA on 1800 800 110. Our step-by-step guide is how to add plan management to your NDIS plan.
Can I change plan manager if I am not happy?
Yes. You can move to another registered plan manager, and your plan funding stays the same. Check your service agreement for any notice period. Our guide covers the steps: how to switch your NDIS plan manager.
How many people use the NDIS in Queensland?
166,633 active participants at 30 June 2026, which is 21.3% of all NDIS participants (NDIA Quarterly Report, Table D.1). Of these, 72% are plan managed.
When did Queensland's NDIS transition finish?
The NDIS said Queensland's transition would be officially completed on 1 October 2020, when full scheme arrangements took effect.
Does the time zone matter when choosing a plan manager?
It can. Queensland does not observe daylight saving, so a plan manager listing hours in AEDT is an hour ahead of Brisbane from October to April. Ask for support hours in Queensland time.
