Plan managers that say they serve Western Australia
These four plan managers have a full independent review on our site. They are listed alphabetically, not ranked, and the details are what each provider states or what the NDIS Commission register showed on the date given. Three of the four say they serve all of Australia, and IDEAL lists contact hours for both eastern and Western Australia. There are many other registered plan managers: see our independent comparison of NDIS plan managers.

Who is your NDIS contact in each Perth region?
The NDIS uses partner organisations as the local face of the scheme. Which one applies depends on where you live and how old you are: local area coordination is for ages 9 to 64, and the early childhood partner is for a child younger than 6 with developmental delay or younger than 9 with disability. The partner can help you ask for plan management at a plan meeting or review. This is the official list as at 20 September 2026.
| Region | Local area coordination (ages 9 to 64) | Early childhood partner |
|---|---|---|
| Central North Metro | Mission Australia | Uplyft |
| North East Metro | Mission Australia | Uplyft |
| South East Metro | Mission Australia | Uplyft |
| Central South Metro | APM | Uplyft |
| North Metro | APM | Uplyft |
| South Metro | APM | Uplyft |
| Great Southern, Inner Wheatbelt and South West | APM | Uplyft |
If you live in the Kimberley-Pilbara, Midwest-Gascoyne, Outer Wheatbelt or Goldfields-Esperance regions, the NDIS says to call 1800 800 110: the NDIA is providing direct planning services there while it reviews how services roll out. See the NDIS Western Australia partner page for the map by local government area.
Why Western Australia's NDIS story is different
A trial in the Perth Hills
The NDIS began in the Perth Hills on 1 July 2014, covering the local government areas of Swan, Mundaring and Kalamunda, with a state-run version (NDIS My Way) starting in the Lower South-West at the same time (NDIS news, 29 June 2014).
A national agreement in 2017
The Western Australian Government announced on 12 December 2017 that WA would join the nationally delivered NDIS, with the NDIA taking over delivery in WA from 1 July 2018 (WA Government statement). Existing WA participants moved across in phases.
What it means today
Plan management works the same way for a Perth participant as anywhere else: the fee comes from a separate line in your plan, and the rules for registered plan managers are national.
How to choose a plan manager in Perth: five questions to ask
Ask each plan manager you shortlist these before you sign a service agreement. Plan management costs you nothing extra ($104.45 a month in 2026-27 is paid from your plan), so the choice comes down to service.
What does your timeframe cover?
A plan manager may quote the time to process an invoice, to reach the NDIA, or to pay your provider. Ask which one, and whether it is a target or an average. Processing is different from money arriving in your provider's bank.
How are invoices approved?
Some plan managers pay every invoice you approve, others pay after a set time unless you say hold. Choose the setting that suits you, and confirm which of your providers can send invoices directly.
Can I see a sample invoice journey?
Ask to see an invoice from received to paid in the portal or app on the device you use, with the accessibility settings you need. A budget screen alone does not show where an unprocessed invoice is waiting.
Who do I call, and when?
Ask whether the person you will deal with is available during WA business hours, not only eastern-state hours. Ask who covers your contact during leave and how urgent calls are escalated.
Is registration current?
Plan managers must be registered with the NDIS Commission. Search the NDIS Commission provider register for the business name or ABN and check plan management is listed and current.
Perth is in a different time zone to most plan managers
Most plan managers run from eastern-state offices. Perth (AWST) is two hours behind Sydney and Brisbane in winter and three hours behind Sydney and Melbourne during daylight saving. A support line that closes at 5pm eastern time closes at 3pm or 2pm in Perth. IDEAL Plan Management, for example, lists its hours in both AEDT and AWST and we could not confirm how the two match up, so ask for contact hours in Perth time before you sign.

Do I need a plan manager based in Perth?
No. Plan management is a financial service, and the providers we compare below describe portal, app, phone or email service rather than a local office. A local office matters only if you want face-to-face contact. What matters more for a Perth participant is whether phone support is available during Perth business hours.
Who is my NDIS contact in Perth?
It depends on your region and age. In the Central North, North East and South East metro regions the local area coordination partner is Mission Australia; in the Central South, North and South metro regions it is APM. The early childhood partner across all six metro regions is Uplyft. The table above lists them as published by the NDIS on 20 September 2026.
Is plan management free for Perth participants?
Yes. Plan management is funded in your plan as its own support, at up to $104.45 a month in 2026-27 under the NDIS Pricing Schedule, and it does not reduce the funding you have for supports. There is no setup fee in the pricing schedule. See our guide to NDIS plan management fees.
How do I add plan management to my plan?
Tell the NDIA you want it. The NDIS says you can ask to change how your funding is managed at any time, at a plan meeting or by contacting the NDIA on 1800 800 110. Our step-by-step guide is how to add plan management to your NDIS plan.
Can I change plan manager if I am not happy?
Yes. You can move to another registered plan manager, and your plan funding stays the same. Check your service agreement for any notice period. Our guide covers the steps: how to switch your NDIS plan manager.
What was the NDIS trial in the Perth Hills?
It was the NDIA's first Western Australian trial site, which began on 1 July 2014 in the Swan, Mundaring and Kalamunda local government areas. A separate state-run version started in the Lower South-West on the same date.
I live in the Kimberley, Pilbara or Goldfields. Can I still use a plan manager?
The NDIS says applicants in the Kimberley-Pilbara, Midwest-Gascoyne, Outer Wheatbelt and Goldfields-Esperance regions should call the NDIA on 1800 800 110, as it is providing direct planning there. Once your plan includes plan management, ask any provider to confirm it can service your postcode before you sign.
How many people use the NDIS in Western Australia?
70,243 active participants at 30 June 2026, which is 9.0% of all NDIS participants (NDIA Quarterly Report, Table D.1). Of these, 67% are plan managed.
