NDIS plan manager reviews and features

Use reviews as one part of your decision. Compare contact, invoice-approval and digital tools, then select two or three providers to view side by side. Google figures are dated snapshots of a specific listing; app ratings concern software, not the plan manager’s service.

Ten selected providers, not the whole market. Use the source links to check the evidence, then decide which features matter most to you.

Details, sources and review context — Bright Plan Management

Why consider it: Bright publishes a dedicated plan manager and accepts authorised invoices by email or post. This is worth exploring if repeating your story or using a phone app is a barrier.

Check before choosing: Ask who covers leave, whether you can approve each invoice, and how often you receive statements. Its “live app” description points to a portal; a native store listing was not verified.

Details, sources and review context — Leap In!

Why consider it: Leap in!’s app combines spending information with goals and plan-meeting summaries. That may suit someone who wants their planning notes and budget in one place.

Check before choosing: Ask for a demonstration of invoice approval and low-budget alerts on your own device, and whether a nominee can have separate access. Published features do not establish how easy the app will be for you.

Details, sources and review context — My Plan Manager

Why consider it: My Plan Manager explicitly describes a support team rather than one dedicated contact. Its portal shows spending by support type and funding period, which may help you check what remains available.

Check before choosing: Ask how case notes and escalations work when you speak to different staff. Confirm your invoice-approval settings rather than assuming an alert means payment waits for your approval.

Details, sources and review context — MyIntegra

Why consider it: MyIntegra publishes manual or standing invoice approvals, reserved funds for preferred providers and low-funding notifications. Those are useful features to examine when regular supports compete for the same budget.

Check before choosing: Ask whether reserved amounts include every ongoing commitment and how funding-period limits appear. A displayed balance is not necessarily money available for a new support.

Why consider it: NDSP describes Nappa as a mobile-friendly web portal that can be saved to a home screen. It shows funding periods, claims and reports, with coordinator access by consent.

Check before choosing: Nappa says turning off auto-approval triggers an SMS so you can review invoices before payment. Ask for this setting to be demonstrated. Do not confuse the separate provider Invoice Tracker with the participant portal.

Details, sources and review context — nib Thrive

Why consider it: Thrive publishes portal access for participants, nominees and support coordinators. This may help a family keep track of invoices, provided the access permissions meet the participant’s wishes.

Check before choosing: Ask who can approve an invoice, how access is withdrawn and how you get help without the portal. The nib health-insurance app is not evidence of a Thrive participant app.

Why consider it: Plan Hero combines a published dedicated-contact model with Planability tools for invoice approval and funding-period balances. That gives you two concrete features to test in an introductory conversation.

Check before choosing: Ask who covers your contact’s leave and how rejected invoices are resolved. Planability is shared software: its app ratings do not measure Plan Hero’s service.

Why consider it: Plan Partners publishes a Dashboard covering invoice approval, reimbursements and payment status. This may help when your main frustration is not knowing where a payment has reached.

Details, sources and review context — Plan Tracker

Why consider it: Plan Tracker publishes Sunday budget summaries and SMS invoice alerts. Its participant FAQ says an invoice proceeds by default within 24 hours of the alert unless you ask to hold it.

Check before choosing: If you need to actively approve every invoice, ask for that arrangement in writing. Weekly summaries cover invoices received and processed, not necessarily all future commitments.

Why consider it: Provider Choice offers a participant dashboard and scheduled Guru-team support. ProCho Biz is a separate service-provider app; it is not a participant app for managing your own plan.

Check before choosing: Ask whether you receive an ongoing named contact, who handles urgent payment issues and how participant invoice approval works. A team-support page does not establish that dedicated support is unavailable.

ProCho Biz serves service providers. Its Google Play listing exists, but the research captured no displayed rating; “no rating recorded” is not “no listing”. Neither ProCho Biz store score is used to rate participant tools.

Reading the evidence: Provider-stated = published by the business. Review-platform snapshot = one dated listing, not a national score. Not confirmed = insufficient evidence, not an absent feature. Google branches and sample sizes differ; app ratings concern software. Remote service coverage does not establish local office availability.

Personal support, clearer budget information or help with switching? Tell us what you need in the Find My Plan Manager form.

Find my plan manager

Compare payment processes, not speed slogans

There are three separate stages: the manager checks and submits the invoice; the NDIA considers and funds the claim; the manager sends payment after funds arrive. Missing details, approval questions and unavailable funding can interrupt the process. Ask where the delay occurred before changing managers.

Examples of published timing claims — and what each covers
  • Bright: authorised invoices processed within two business days. That wording does not establish total time until money reaches the provider.
  • MyIntegra: aims to review and submit eligible invoices within one business day, then pay the following business day after NDIA approval and release.
  • Provider Choice: describes submission to the NDIA within 72 hours. That is not a 72-hour payment guarantee.
  • Plan Partners: describes up to seven business days including NDIA processing and transfer time; it cannot be compared directly with submission-only targets.

Sources are linked in each provider’s evidence section. These are provider statements, not service levels we measured or a “fastest provider” ranking.

What you should ask about a delayed invoice

“When did you receive it, what stage is it at, what is missing, who will follow up, and when will I hear back?” Ask how urgent support interruptions are escalated and how a decision not to pay can be explained and reviewed. Keep invoice references and written replies.

What does plan management cost?

Plan management has a maximum monthly fee of $104.45 under the NDIS pricing schedule checked for this guide. The schedule lists no separate setup fee. Ask your plan manager what they charge; the maximum is not a fixed price every provider must charge.

Check the official fee source

NDIS pricing schedule effective 24 September 2026 — Appendix 7, Table 57, item 14_034_0127_8_3. Checked 1 October 2026.

Check that your plan includes funding for plan management and ask how the agreed fee will be claimed. This funded service is separate from DisabilityChoice’s free referral matching. Get any proposed additional charge explained in writing before signing.

Changing plan managers: your handover checklist

You can change plan manager during your plan; you do not need to wait until it ends. NDIA choosing guidance and NDIA changing-provider guidance explain the process.

  1. Check your agreement. Find the notice period, cancellation process and any obligations. Do not assume every manager has the same notice period.
  2. Choose the new manager and agree dates. Confirm your communication needs, fee, approvals and escalation route in the new agreement.
  3. Reconcile outstanding work. List unpaid invoices, reimbursements, disputes and regular commitments. Ask both managers who will handle each item and request your current statements.
  4. Confirm the NDIA record. Ask your my NDIS contact or the NDIA about changing your recorded plan manager and any “my provider” endorsement required for your plan. Confirm the effective date.
  5. Tell your support providers. Give them the new invoicing details and start date after the handover is agreed. Check the first invoices and your new budget balance.

If you are arranging this as a parent, nominee or coordinator, confirm your authority and consent arrangements. Ask for separate portal permissions rather than sharing the participant’s login.

Frequently asked questions

Which NDIS plan manager is best?

There is no single best option for everyone. Use the comparison to identify the contact model, approval controls and communication options that suit you. Speak to two or three providers and check their written agreement. This guide does not rank providers.

Can a plan manager pay unregistered providers?

Plan-managed funding generally allows registered and unregistered support providers, but some supports require registration. The plan manager itself must be registered. Check the rules for the support you want; this general flexibility is not a reason to rank one manager above another.

Do I need a mobile app?

No. A browser portal is different from a downloadable app, and a provider-facing app is different from a participant app. Ask how to receive reports and approve invoices by your preferred communication method, including if you cannot use digital tools.

Will DisabilityChoice connect me to any provider in this guide?

No. None of the ten providers compared here currently has a referral relationship with DisabilityChoice. Our Find My Plan Manager form helps us understand your needs so we can consider other providers we work with. The matching service is free to you and there is no obligation to proceed. Participating providers pay us for eligible referrals.

Is your referral panel the new NDIA panel?

No. DisabilityChoice’s commercial referral panel is separate. The NDIA has announced a plan-management panel for 1 October 2027, with a six-month transition ending in April 2028. Inclusion in this guide or our referral panel does not mean selection for that future NDIA panel.

How we made this comparison

Coverage, sources and limitations

This first edition covers ten providers from our existing research programme with a completed September comparison dataset. It is a deliberately limited starting set, not a market census, a “top ten” or every provider we have reviewed. Other providers may suit you. Alphabetical order does not indicate quality or commercial preference.

We compared published contact models, participant tools, controls and payment processes. We did not sign up, test portals, submit invoices or interview providers for this comparison. Provider promises are attributed; practical implications are editorial judgements. Unknown features remain unknown.

Google snapshots use one identified listing per provider. Location and sample sizes differ, so the scores are not a like-for-like national league table. We do not average branches or infer review themes from star scores. Detailed review research is summarised only where that work is available and linked; software ratings are kept separate from service reviews.

Provider sources and rating observations were recorded on 29 September 2026. This revision rechecked selected app/contact/control claims and official NDIA pricing, choosing and panel guidance on 1 October. It did not refresh every rating or independently verify every customer account.

All plan managers need registration. Before signing, check the provider’s legal identity in the NDIS Commission register. We have not used historical registration-end dates to label a provider unregistered or to rank its service.

This unranked desk comparison is distinct from our referral-panel assessment methodology. Send a correction or suggest a provider for a future edition.
