THE COMMUNITY NURSING REVIEW
Nurse Next Door review (2026)
Nursing care, local teams and what Australian customer reviews can—and cannot—tell you.
01 / Is it a good fit?
Is Nurse Next Door a good fit for NDIS nursing?
This Nurse Next Door review is for people comparing community nursing under the NDIS. We examined all 10 reviews displayed on its Australian Trustpilot profile and all 16 on ProductReview, including accessible replies. These are small, mixed-service collections, not a nursing satisfaction survey. The strongest decision is about the team that will actually visit you.
Consider it if…
- You want nursing and day-to-day support coordinated through one local office.
- You can meet the responsible nurse and agree a realistic regular roster before starting.
- You want to ask about an RN assessment, care handover and family communication.
Check first if…
- A missed or substantially delayed visit would leave you without essential support.
- You need a specific nursing skill, overnight coverage or an immediate start.
- You are relying on reviews from a different franchise or on a promise of 24/7 telephone access.
02 / Service at a glance
Nursing services at a glance
The following service details come from the provider’s Australian website. They describe its offer; they do not confirm a place on your local roster.
- Published nursing offer
- Registered and enrolled nursing, including wound, catheter and stoma care, medication support and other assessed needs. The local office must confirm the actual service.
- Network
- The Australian location directory says 70+ locations. That measures network presence, not the number of available NDIS nurses.
- Care model
- The provider describes RN oversight, a care plan and attendance monitoring. These are published commitments, not outcomes we have independently measured.
- Availability
- Postcode, required skills, frequency and start date need confirmation. A 24/7 scheduling line does not guarantee a nurse is available for your shift.

Portal, mobile app and keeping informed
We did not verify an Australian participant-facing app listing or an app-store rating that could be attributed to this service. Ask how you and an approved contact receive visit changes, care notes and invoices, and whether telephone or paper alternatives are available. Staff or franchise software is not evidence of a family portal.

What do Nurse Next Door reviews actually show?
These are separate platform snapshots, not DisabilityChoice ratings. Scores cover the scopes described on each card and may change after the check date.
The clearest positive NDIS account is about a specific nursing team
A September 2026 Trustpilot account from a participant’s parent describes weekly RN visits from Melbourne South East and a helpful handover when the participant moved. A separate March 2025 account praises nurses for explaining care patiently. These are useful nursing-specific details, but two experiences do not establish reliability across the network.
Positive care relationships also appear on ProductReview
Wendy N.’s Cairns account describes satisfaction with regular nursing alongside support-worker visits. A Perth social worker describes responsive support for participants, but that is professional-referrer feedback, not a participant account. Several family reviews praise individual carers. These different perspectives should not be treated as identical evidence.
Changed or missed visits deserve a specific discussion
In August 2026, Joy Treichel reported missed carer visits while praising the carers themselves. A Gippsland account also described last-minute changes. Micky B.’s ProductReview account reports uncovered support shifts. These reports concern broader care delivery; they do not prove that an RN missed a clinical appointment. They do make a written backup and notification process worth requesting.
Billing clarity and continuity are different from bedside manner
Brian’s February 2026 Trustpilot account raises a dispute about changed visit times and cancellation charges. Other reviewers describe good individual staff but difficulties with the office. Ask separately about the nurse, the scheduler and the person who can correct a disputed invoice. A friendly introductory visit cannot answer all three questions.
What we did not count as independent corroboration
A family account appears on both Trustpilot and ProductReview; we treated it as one experience. Employment commentary was excluded from participant-service conclusions. Some posts contain serious allegations that we could not independently substantiate; this review does not determine their accuracy. An accessible provider reply on ProductReview requested identifying details and disputed being able to match the complaint. That exchange does not establish either a resolution or a finding against the provider.
Our interpretation
The evidence supports asking about local nursing capability, regular staffing and recovery when a visit changes. It does not support a blanket claim that all branches are good or bad. Meet the local clinical lead, request a written roster and check recent reviews for that exact office before committing.
Turn the reviews into useful questions
Write down your preferred visit times, what must happen if a nurse cannot attend, and who you want kept informed. Take the same questions to each provider.

Questions to ask before choosing
Who will perform each task?
Ask which visits require an RN or EN, who supervises care and how the assigned staff’s competence is checked. Do not assume every person wearing the brand’s uniform is a nurse.
What happens if my regular nurse cannot attend?
Request the backup arrangement, notification time and escalation contact. Clarify what happens outside office hours and how a changed visit will be agreed with you.
Will the quote match my planned visits?
Ask for the visit duration, day/time loading, travel, reports, consumables and cancellation terms. Separate nursing charges from support-worker charges.
How will a move or change of provider be handled?
Agree who transfers the care plan and records with consent, and how the incoming provider confirms continuity before the current roster ends.
05 / Fees & switching
NDIS nursing costs, agreements and switching
We did not establish a single current Australia-wide NDIS nursing price or minimum visit length from the sources checked. An old care guide or a reviewer’s historic bill is not a current quote. Ask the local office for a written service agreement and a worked example covering your actual weekly roster. The provider describes flexible arrangements, but confirm notice and cancellation terms in your own agreement.
Funding and registration: check your arrangement
A provider’s service list does not establish that the NDIS will fund every item for you. Start with our NDIS nursing funding guide and confirm the support and budget before agreeing to charges. NDIS guidance says NDIA-managed participants must use registered providers; self-managed and plan-managed participants generally have more choice, with exceptions. Confirm the legal entity and required registration for your proposed service. This review does not certify the registration of every franchise.
Protect continuity when changing providers
Agree the end date, notice obligations, outstanding invoices and consented transfer of the care plan. Confirm the incoming team’s first visit and backup arrangements before ending essential support. Discuss clinical changes with your treating team; this review cannot assess the safety of a care transition.
06 / Compare options
Compare local nursing options
Nurse Next Door is worth comparing on its proposed RN-led arrangement and backup roster. Just Better Care has a published client/family app; Right at Home describes coordinated clinical and daily-living care. These features are not a quality ranking. Compare written local offers for the same needs, visit times and total cost.
Compare the service, not just the stars
- The named nurse and relevant skills.
- Your actual visit times and backup coverage.
- The complete weekly cost and cancellation rules.
- How records, complaints and family updates are handled.
Check funding before committing
Use the nursing guide to separate disability-related nursing from care funded through other systems, then discuss your proposed service with the provider.
Read the NDIS nursing guideCurrent next step: DisabilityChoice is not yet matching participants with nursing providers. Use the checklist and contact providers directly; no nursing availability or referral partnership is implied.
07 / FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is Nurse Next Door suitable for NDIS nursing?
It publishes nursing and disability-support services. Suitability depends on your funded support, the local team’s skills, current capacity and your care plan. A national service page does not confirm your booking.
Why are the review scores different?
Trustpilot and ProductReview contain different reviewers, dates and service experiences. We display the scores separately and do not calculate a combined rating.
Does 24/7 support mean a nurse is always available?
No. Access to a scheduling or telephone team is different from confirmed clinical coverage. Ask what response and replacement arrangements apply to your exact visits.
Can I see the same nurse regularly?
Ask the local office to describe its regular team and leave cover. The published aim of consistent care and positive accounts do not guarantee the same person at every visit.
Sources and research method
All 10 displayed Australian Trustpilot reviews and all 16 ProductReview reviews were read on 17 October 2026. ProductReview ages were relative (approximately seven months to two years); we have not converted them into exact dates. One apparent cross-post was deduplicated in the analysis. We also examined provider-published service information and local Google-review testimonials, without converting those testimonials into an aggregate score. Search snippets conflicted with the live Trustpilot score; the card uses the live page.
This is desk research into public information, not a clinical inspection, a personally tested service or a representative survey. Individual reviews are attributed experiences, not independently established findings. Provider statements and our interpretation are distinguished throughout.
